Entering the final stage of construction

After a period of fundraising and careful planning, we are ready to continue building once again! We have entered the final phase of construction, which includes finishing work such as skimming and painting the interior and exterior walls, installing zinc boards, tiling the shop area, fitting large shop windows, and placing toilets, sinks, and wooden and aluminum doors.

Once this stage is completed, we will begin making our own furniture for the workspaces, install the required fire safety equipment and systems, and prepare the outdoor parking and handling area.

Unfortunately, the cost of materials has increased significantlyโ€”especially following the unrest after presidential elections. This means we will need to see how far our budget can take us and whether we can still reach our planned opening in February.

We are deeply thankful to all our donors for your continued support and generosity. All individual contributors, the SMA Netherlands, Wilde Ganzen foundation, and the protestant church in the Middenbeemster. Your belief in this project enables us to keep moving forward and brings us closer to opening our doors for young entrepreneurs and craftsmen and -women in Mwanza.

Thank you for walking this journey with us!
