Work&Shop Creative Center is a community workshop in Mwanza, Tanzania. We provide skilled artisans and entrepreneurs with access to tools, machines, workspace, business support, and a shop to help them grow their businesses and increase their income.

Anyone aged 18 years or older with technical or vocational skills is welcome. Users must be able to work safely and independently with the available tools and equipment.

No. We are not a vocational training institute and do not teach technical trades such as carpentry, welding, or tailoring. Those skills should be obtained through a recognized training institution. Our workshop is designed for people who already have these skills and need access to equipment and workspace.

Our workshop includes equipment for carpentry, sewing, welding, and other creative and technical work. The available machines may change as we continue to grow.

Yes. Local artisans and entrepreneurs can apply to sell selected products through our shop, provided they meet our quality standards.

Yes. Users are expected to supply their own materials, although most of items will be available for purchase through our hardware shop, so you do not need to carry it all with you. For use of the sewing machine, we do provide sewing threads for free.

The cost depends on the service you use. We aim to keep our prices affordable while ensuring the sustainability of the workshop. Please contact us for our current price list.

Yes. Every user must follow our safety regulations, use equipment responsibly, and treat the workshop, tools, and fellow users with respect. Upon entering, we have a document for you to review and sign. 

Work&Shop is located near Buswelu, in Ilemela District, Mwanza, approximately 10 km from the city centre. The workshop is situated along the main road from Sabasaba to Buswelu, making it easy to reach by both public and private transport.

From Mwanza city centre, take a local minibus heading towards Kiseke/Buswelu and get off at the Chadema bus stop. From there, the workshop is just across the road—a 2-minute walk. A large yellow and orange building.

Yes. We welcome schools, NGOs, churches, businesses, and other organizations interested in learning about our work or exploring partnerships. As well, we can organize creative workshop for a group. Please contact us to discuss the possibilities.

We welcome volunteers who are passionate about empowering others and sharing their skills.

Our greatest need is for experienced professionals with a practical background, such as carpenters, welders, tailors, mechanics, shoemakers, or other skilled trades. Volunteers work alongside our artisans, sharing their knowledge, mentoring skilled workers, and helping them further develop their craftsmanship.

We also welcome volunteers with expertise in business development, marketing, fundraising, finance, or organizational development to support our mission.
